Abstract, experimental drone-doom from OPIUM HUM favorites/all-out brilliant artists Stephen O'Malley and Miki Vainio. Dissonant, downtuned guitars, minimal programmed drumming, scraping horror-movie strings, walls of drone and harsh noise, punishing electronics, and, occasionally, some pretty unsettling vocals. Without a doubt, Through a Pre-Memory comes off as an extension of Khanate.

  1. Indeed, Mr. O'Malley and the late, great Mr. Vainio. In addition to the brief list included by DEAR_SPIRIT in the post, interested parties might be wise to investigate Mr. Vainio's Pan Sonic project. There is nothing not to like there, in my most humble opinion. Hearty thanks for the post.

    1. Pan Sonic is GREAT, pretty sure I actually heard them before any of this other stuff

  2. I caught about 1.5 hours of O'Malley and Angel Deradorian's 4-hour "durational" pefromance at MoogFest yesterday. Physical, spiritual, emotional--beautiful. Plus people were just sitting around in the floor while the rain poured down outside, so it was sorta prefect.
